IND vs NZ: “If He Plays Another Match And Fails…”

Indian Cricket Team is all set to clash against New Zealand for the 3rd T20I on 1st February (Wednesday). The decider promises to be a fascinating one as both teams are evenly matched. All eyes would be on Shubman Gill, as the batter so far has looked in all sorts of trouble.

New Zealand would be banking on their spin trio: Ish Sodhi, Michael Bracewell & Mitchell Santner to create havoc. The Black Caps need Mark Chapman to anchor the innings as he is someone who could provide stability to the innings in tricky situations.

Kamran Akmal on Shubman Gill

Kamran Akmal was speaking on his YouTube channel and made remarks on Shubman Gill. “Shubman Gill has performed in Tests and ODIs, but in T20Is, he hasn’t done it so far. If he plays another match and fails, it can hit his confidence and he might lose the momentum.

“Of course, you have to play him in T20Is but I think you can rest him for the final match to keep him fresh,” said Kamran Akmal.

Conundrum for Management

Prithvi Shaw has been amassing tons of runs in the domestic circuit for quite some time. At the same time, Ishan Kishan hasn’t looked in great touch either. The management needs to make a tough call as we all know that this is a crunch game where a lot of questions would be raised on Hardik Pandya’s captaincy if India loses the decider.

New Zealand would fancy a great triumph as they are without their star players still they have been quite competitive. The Black Caps perhaps need to use Glenn Phillips at the back end of the innings as the batter could thrash the pacers during the death overs stage.
