The National Cricket Academy has reportedly cleared all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to play in the series-opening Nagpur Test against Australia.
According to Cricbuzz, the NCA released a fitness report on his readiness to participate on Wednesday (February 1), clearing the way for him to join the rest of the squad in Nagpur for a short camp in preparation for the Test and series.

The last time Jadeja represented India was at the 2022 Asia Cup in Dubai. He missed five months of play due to a knee injury he received there. Although he was initially scheduled to join the trip to Bangladesh, he was ultimately withdrawn. He missed the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Ravindra Jadeja made his comeback to competitive play last week when he played for Saurashtra versus Tamil Nadu in a Ranji Trophy match. He bowled 41.1 overs in that game and finished with a seven-for, demonstrating his capacity for the demands of a Test match.

The Return of Ravindra Jadeja is a definite boost to India’s chances in Nagpur:
India’s chances in Nagpur are undoubtedly improved by Ravindra Jadeja’s comeback, but the hosts will begin the major series without their effective middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer.
Iyer promptly reported to the NCA for rehabilitation treatment after being forced to withdraw from the New Zealand series due to a back ailment in an effort to recover in time for the start of the Australia Tests.
Iyer is scheduled to remain at the NCA in Bengaluru and continue working on his rehabilitation program in an effort to be available for the second Test in Delhi, which begins on February 17, even though those keeping track of his fitness status have not yet definitively ruled him out of the Nagpur game.
